I'm am going to start off by apologizing for my excessive break from my blog. My life has been one big mess as of late. First, my computer died. Thankfully it is still under warranty so all I had to do was call customer service and they sent me a shipping label to send it to them to be either fixed or replaced. But, then I made the mistake of entrusting the task of taking my laptop to the post office to someone other than myself and they sent off my sister's laptop instead. I then had to call customer service, tell them what happened, they sent my sister's laptop back and now I have to call them again to get a new shipping label so I can send off my laptop, myself. And then shortly after all this happened my cat somehow got outside and was killed brutally by dogs. So, I have been in a bit of a dark place emotionally since that happened. I am extremely attached to my animals. He was not just a cat to me, he was my BABY. And losing him hurt me deeply. But, I have decided that I can't hole myself up forever and just leave my blog hanging. So, without further ado, here is the post I had written but never uploaded from the last day of mine and my sister's South Padre Island vacation. Enjoy!

Sadly, today is our last full day of vacation. We go home tomorrow. If I had a job down here I would never go back! (So not kidding) Today we dedicated to shopping and the Dolphin Watch Eco Tour. We did the tour first since we purchased tickets in advance for the morning before it go too unbearably hot. I love to go on this tour every time I visit the island because firstly, the dolphins are so freaking cute. And secondly, they drag a net behind the boat for the first 10-15 minutes and will bring anything they catch into the boat in a tank they have set up and will tell the guests about what they have caught. Today, they caught several flounder, a fish that is normally used as bait, and two squid. The squid definitely stole the show when they got agitated at the guy holding them and decided to ink him. After his presentation was done we followed around a family of dolphins that had a baby with them. My sister and I decided that dolphins are extreme show-offs. The more people cheered, whistled, and clapped for them the more they did. The family of dolphins had about 7 or 8 in their group, and they all took turns jumping out of the water and splashing about. It was quite entertaining.

After the tour we realized we were quite hangry (hungry to the point of anger), and we needed food a.s.a.p. We went to our favorite local spot, Grapevine Cafe. When we were finished we went to the Inkcredible tattoo shop. I got a tattoo of an anchor on my left ring finger, my sister was going to get a rook piercing in her ear, but the piercing artist said he did not do rooks. So, we went to a different shop for hers. The shop we went to was Peggy's Tattoos. While I may not be intimidated by tattoo shops this place was amazing for my sister! The shop was run completely by women and had a nice clean, bright, and airy feel to it, without losing that traditional tattoo shop vibe. Let's just say, this place is perfect for someone who has never been to a tattoo shop before and is intimidated by them. I was extremely impressed. My sister loved the shop and even said she would not mind going there again (SCORE!). And let me tell you how much of a compliment that is coming from my sister, I can't even get her to go into a Hot Topic store with me! But she went into this shop with no problem and even enjoyed herself. If I take her to Peggy's I just might eventually be able to convince her to get a tattoo with me! (It'll be a long shot)

Once we had finished with all of our shopping we knew the inevitable time of departure was coming. We walked along the beach for a few minutes, delaying as much as possible, until we knew that we needed to leave. Our drive back was very depressing, needless to say. We did not want to leave. And the further away we got the worse we felt. But, we comforted ourselves with the knowledge that we were totally going back next year. So, in the meantime we will continue saving for our next trip! Something to look forward to, right?

See you next time! Happy reading!
