New Series Coming Soon!

Welcome to my new series I will be starting on my blog. While my blog’s main focus will still be my reviews of products, movies, music, etc. I have been considering for quite some time about blogging about my life as a Preschool Teacher. Most people believe that all my job requires is for me to play with kids all day, they believe it is basically a fancy daycare, which could not be further from the truth.

Real Preschools actually require their teachers to use a curriculum and create lesson plans. I have used curriculum from Links to Learning to ABeka. Yes, we do still care for children outside of normal school operating hours, but unlike daycare we actually have a curriculum to implement.

Some Preschools will even require you to have a minimum of an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or a similar field. And the school I work for does require this. While I do not have my degree in Early Childhood Education - My degree is in Vocal Performance - the school I am working for hired me because I have 7 years of experience of early childhood education.

I hope everyone will enjoy this series. I have been considering it for quite some time, and since teaching is what I spend every weekday doing it is important to me. For legal reasons I will never mention specific people or events. But there is still plenty of things involved in my job that will hopefully make for an interesting series. I will begin my new series this Monday when I return to work. Look forward to it!
