Daily Life of a Teacher - Day Two

Welcome to day two of the Daily Life of a Teacher!

Today was one of the better days where I was able to enjoy teaching my class without a bunch of unnecessary interruptions. While this morning I did still have to deal with the moving of my kids from my class into another class due to ratio purposes, management finally decided that instead of making another class deal with ten or more of my students they sent in an assistant teacher to help me so that my students could stay in my class. I greatly appreciated this because I always

feel bad when I have to move my kids because then they miss out on our lessons. And lately we have been doing a study on plants and my class planted their own seeds and have been able to water them and care for them, but my students that had to go to another class never got the chance to plant theirs. I hate that they had to miss out.

I do believe the only “bad” thing I can talk about today is how dramatic children are. You can’t help but laugh sometimes at the tiniest things that set these children off. While it is something so important to them when you as an adult think about it logically it makes no sense to you why it is such a big deal. But, that is always the best moment to turn it into something teachable and try to help them find a way to work through their dramatic outbursts.

Today’s post was definitely a shorter one than yesterday’s. But my advice to you today fellow teachers is to enjoy the calm days, savor them for those rainy days when your patience is being tested.

See You Next Time! Happy Reading!
